Go Again

Scripture
…“Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “Go again.”
(1 Kings 18:43)
Devotional
You just have to love prophet Elijah. He was a man who would not live on his past successes. Once they were over, they were over. Here, he is freshly victorious over the false prophets of Baal. What is he doing? He is getting ready for the drought ending prophesied rain. There was no arrogance in him. He was bowed down with his face between his knees, so that he could once again call on the God of Israel. As he prayed, seven times he sent his servant to see if the rain was coming. Each time he returned with, “No rain,” Elijah simply would respond, “Go again.” What an awesome two word lesson, “Go again.” When failure comes, “Go again.” When you are rejected, “Go again.” When you find your self wanting to quit, “Go again.” For on the seventh time he went, there was a small cloud.
