Title

“A Faith Amount”

Scripture
For thus says the Lord God… “The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.”
(1 Kings 17:14)
Devotional
The Lord God will not allow the righteous to walk out of faith. Elijah was a righteous man as was the widow of Zarephath. Therefore, they had to walk by faith. The widow by faith gave Elijah the last portion, and he likewise received by faith. Elijah had the greater faith; for he said, “Do not fear…make me a mall cake.” The widow by faith obeyed the man of God. Because of faith and obedience the small amount of flour and oil remained available. There was never an abundance; there was just enough for each day’s need. There remained “A faith amount.” That is, there was only enough for one more meal. We want the Lord to meet our needs extravagantly. Instead of a day’s supply, we want a year’s. It does not take much faith when there is an abundance. It takes great faith when there is just enough. It takes, “A faith amount.”
