Title

We Get The Leaders We Deserve

Scripture
Jesus answered, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above."
(John 19:11)
Devotional
All power and authority is ordained by God, both the good and the evil. Romans 13:1 clarify the statement: "For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."[1] We may not always understand, but we can always trust God's reasons. Whether it is to give godly authority or to punish our ungodliness, we always get corporately the leadership we deserve. Individually, we will never be given leadership without the grace to endure or obey that leadership. Whether in bondage or with freedom, God's grace is more than sufficient. Therefore, let us always remember to obey as well as pray for our leaders. The apostle Peter likewise instructs, "Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors."[2] If we do this, we may get leaders according to God's own heart. God makes no mistakes.
