Scripture
The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will come through trouble.(Proverbs 12:13)
Devotional
The words of a deceiver and a factious man will eventually catch up with him. You can be sure that his lies like sin will find him out.[1] It is a wicked thing to deceive and manipulate. No matter what the cause or how good the motives; a deceptive mouth will end in ruin. Proverbs instruct those who would speak presumptuously, "If… you are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth. So do this, my son, and deliver yourself.”[2] The words of the righteous may not be trouble free, but the end result of their words will be deliverance and prosperity. We cannot lie our way to success or deceive our way to prosperity without paying a price far greater than the return of a wicked investment. Honesty, high integrity and godly character will always get its possessors through all and any kind of trouble. In the end these will consistently prosper.[1]Numbers 32:23
