Title

Why Do I Stumble?

Scripture
The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
(Proverbs 4:19)
Devotional
The wicked are casualties of their own darkness. Therefore, the wicked are quick to blame others for their own dilemmas. Since they do not know what causes all their problems they will naturally accuse anyone but themselves. Wickedness like darkness is filled with uncertainties. Its intent always involves harm. Wickedness again like darkness is filled with deception. There is no truthfulness in it. Wickedness is birthed in the heart, matures in the mind and is manifest in the flesh. Most wicked people do not know that they are wicked. They usually consider themselves shrewd and cunning. They do not understand why they are forever stumbling. No matter how they may prosper in their wickedness they find no contentment, peace or joy. When we find our lives filled with stumbling, we are to declare with the psalmist, “Search me, O God... and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
