How Old Are You?

Scripture
Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How old are you?”
(Genesis 47: 8)
Devotional
I love Jacob’s answer, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred and thirty years…” Jacob new that this earth was not his home, he was just passing through. Jacob wasn't intimidated by Pharaoh, nor was he impressed by his stature. Jacob had been around the proverbial block. He knew who he was and where he was going. Jacob was thus reverenced by Pharaoh. I titled this little devotional, “How Old Are You?” Here’s why. If you are young in age, respect those who are aged. If you are spiritually young, honor those who have walked with the Lord for a season. If you have lived many years of days, don’t be intimidated by youth. If you're honest, you’ll pity it. If you have served the Lord through your pilgrimage, you have the ability to bless kings and lead people. In your youth seek the Lord. In your maturity, serve Him.
