Title

We Don’t Understand

Scripture
The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
(Psalm 14:2)
Devotional
I am convinced that we do not understand the things of God. We don’t understand His love, mercy, and compassion. We don’t understand His covenant agreement with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We don’t understand the Mosaic covenant, nor do we understand the new covenant found in Christ. We don’t understand His church, the body, and bride of Christ. We just don’t understand. Now listen, because we don’t understand does not mean that we are to give up and quit trying. It means that we are to try harder. We are to seek the things of God with all of our heart, mind, and soul. When we confess that we don’t understand it all, then we are able to understand more. When we realize that in ourselves we are simply undone, then understanding is at our door. “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
