Title

How To Receive The Right Way

Scripture
Then I proclaimed a fast… that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way…
(Ezra 8:21)
Devotional
I appreciate the character of Ezra. He was a man of vision coupled with an understanding of life’s realities. He had convinced Artaxerxes king of Persia to allow him to rebuild the temple of the Lord. Ezra said, “The hand of our God is upon those for good who seek Him…” Therefore, he was ashamed to ask the king for an escort to protect the people on their way to Jerusalem. Because Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Lord, and to build the temple, God caused him to find favor. Ezra shared his vision with the king and the people. He won their hearts because he had convinced them that his vision to rebuild the temple was from the Lord. Therefore, he could not show doubt or lack of faith before the people. Thus he humbled himself before the Lord so that he might receive the right way.
