Do What You Know To Do

Scripture
If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
(John 13:17)
Devotional
There is no blessing in knowing without doing. Furthermore, the Bible says, “Anyone…who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” Jesus did not say, if you know these things and say them you are blessed. Just talking about what you know is hypocritical unless you are doing those things you know to do. Many people talk about the Bible, but do not so what it says. Many people talk about work, business, dreams, goals, and the like, yet never take a step toward achieving them. They just talk about it. I believe God abhors unemployed talk. For He says, “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” These are like players who always attend the pep-rally, but never show up for the game. They look good, sound good, but do no good. They are simply valueless fluff. Therefore, if you know it, do it.
