Title

How Do You See Yourself?

Scripture
So Samuel said, “When you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribe of Israel? And did not the Lord anoint you king over Israel?”
(1 Samuel 15:17)
Devotional
Saul began as a humble, obedient son, who did not see himself as anyone special. However, as notoriety came, he began to see himself more highly than he should have. He began to do his own thing and not obey the Word of the Lord. Therefore, the kingdom was taken from him and given to another, David, a man after God’s own heart. Whenever pride comes and we begin to think that we are somebody special, watch out, a fall is about to come our way. The scripture clearly states, “Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” Pride and arrogance are rebellion, and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. The reason that most of us begin to see ourselves more highly than we ought is because we measure ourselves by ourselves, or we compare ourselves with mankind instead of Christ. Learn to see yourself rightly.
