Our Lord’s explanation of this parable is so clear. He is the Sower. The seed is His Word, and we are the ground. Some hear the word and permit Satan to steal it from them. Others hear, but have no depth and so they stumble. Still others hear, and because of the cares of this world they are unfruitful. Then there are those who hear, believe, and put what they hear to work. These are the ones that grow, accomplish great things, and duplicate themselves in the lives of others. Listen! You may be wayside, stony, or weed infested soil; it doesn’t matter what your makeup. Jesus Christ can cultivate your attitude, remove the weeds of discontent from your life, and take the stones of bitterness out of your heart. Christ wants you to be fruitful. You may be lousy soil, but Christ is a great gardener.Daily Reading
