Acceptable Thoughts and Words

Scripture
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
(Psalm 19:14)
Devotional
Our strength is and shall always be in the Lord; and our minds will remain strong if we faithfully meditate on Him and His word. Likewise, we realize our redemption when we, with our mouths, glorify the Him as Redeemer. The Bible says, “If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.” Our salvation is exemplified by our thoughts and through our words. Who we think that we are and who we say that we are may not be who we truly are. On the other hand, what we think and what we say reflect who we really are. We must think honestly; that is, we must not think on lies or sinfulness. We, likewise must speak honestly, that is speak the truth in love. God will strengthen us to do so and redeem us through that strength.
