Title

The Supply is Through You

Scripture
But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
(Matthew 14:16)
Devotional
If God shows you a need, He intends for you to fulfill that need. Now listen, what people ask for is not necessarily what they need. Some folks may ask for a car, when they just need a ride. Others may ask for money when the thing they truly need is a job. Some may ask for a healing when what they really need is to change their eating habits and lifestyle. We are to “Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.”Now listen, if God directs us to give in this manner; surely He will supply us with the ability to do so. If we do not have what the person is asking, then we have to assume that they do not need exactly that. They do have a need, but it is not what they think. Don’t send them away. You give them something, and do so as if directed by the Lord.

On January 21st, David said:
This makes me more confident that I did the right thing when I helped out a friend financially, who I subsequently parted ways with. We had both prayed about the situation, and followed what I believe God was telling me to do. At times as I look back, I feel a bit taken advantage of, but I quickly remember I was responding to a direct plea for help with guidance from God. I know it helped him, and I know God has provided for me in my obedience to his direction.
