Title

What Would You Trade?

Scripture
The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.
(Matthew 13:45-46)
Devotional
How much time would you trade for eternity? What would you give to have all your dreams and goals fulfilled? The answer would most likely be all of your time and all that you possess. If your answer is yes, then you are beginning to understand the value of the kingdom of God. Yet, we trade the best for the merely good. We are quick to exchange the joy of the eternal for the happiness of the temporary, and we trade life for death. How foolish we are. The Creator of the universe is offering us more than a pearl of great price. He is offering all that He has and what He has is so valuable that it cost Him His Sons life. He is offering: “Joy unspeakable and full of glory.” “He is offering the peace of God, which passes all understanding.” “He is offering to whoever believes in Him... eternal life.” We are the merchants. He has the pearl of great price.
