Who Offends You?

Scripture
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.
(Matthew 11:6)
Devotional
The personal pronoun “Me” naturally refers to Jesus Christ. Does Christ offend you? Do the things He teaches, and the illustrations He uses annoy you? Are there times you see His commandments as unfair? Do you ever find yourself disagreeing with the things that He says? If you answered yes to any of these questions, let me ask you another, “Are you blessed?” I would strongly imagine that you’re not. I would also suppose that you’re often depressed, angered, and joyless. The reason being is that you’re offended because of Christ. Learn to take Christ at His word. You don’t have to understand everything to trust Him, just try Him at His word. Proverbs says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.” You will not be offended by the One in Whom you truly trust.
