Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.(Habakkuk 2:4)

Not another's, but your own faith is sufficient to walk in obedience to the One who has given us our measure of faith.[25] The proud trust in their own understanding and foolishly believe that they are a law unto themselves. Their "faith" is self-imposed; it is a design of their own imaginations. It has no object other than their own pride. The faith of the just is not fabricated, but it is a gift of God. The just, "live by faith in the Son of God."[26] Therefore we must ask ourselves, is my faith a fabricated faith or is it the faith measured to me by God? How can I know the difference? How can I distinguish pride from faith? I believe that answer can be found in another question. In whom do I trust? Am I trusting in my own understanding or am I trusting in God and the understanding He gives? The one glorifies self the other gives glory to God.Daily Reading
