Title

The Price Of Expansion

Scripture
And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph… saying, “You are a great people and have great power…
(Joshua 17:17)
Devotional
The two tribes of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh, were dissatisfied with their portion and wanted to expand their territory. Joshua told them because you are a great people, go and posses the land occupied by giants and iron chariots. However, they wanted more territory, but they did not want to pay the price to take the land of iron chariots. Joshua, like all great leaders, knew their potential. He was certain of their ability to posses the land. There are at least two powerful lessons in this text. The first being that great leadership sees the potential, motivates the team and calls them to the task. The second lesson is that growth will always involve change, obedience and varying degrees of risk. Therefore, if you desire to carry out great exploits, you must seek great leadership. Likewise, you will have to, by faith, expand your comfort zone, change your attitude and posses the land.
