See What You Missed?

Scripture
Yet you shall see the land before you, though you shall not go there…
(Deuteronomy 32:52)
Devotional
Moses, the man who spoke to God face to face, the humblest man that ever lived, because of an act of disobedience did not get to enter the promised land. This causes me great wonder and greater fear of the Lord. Therefore, I am taught that leadership has immense responsibilities and receives greater judgment. Obedience is not an option. Just think, Moses relinquished the promise because of one act of rebellion. I furthermore wonder why God showed Moses the land from the mountain. Was it to punish him or reward him? I would guess that it all depended on the attitude of Moses. Knowing what we know about Moses, it was most likely a blessing; and knowing what we know about the Lord, He meant it as such. Moses ran a forty year endurance race and did not receive the earthy prize. Nevertheless, he, by the grace of God did receive the laurel of heaven.
