Title

When Questions Condemn The Questioner

Scripture
Then they said, “Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them, “You rightly say that I am.”
(Luke 22:70)
Devotional
Again we find an example of a lying question. The interrogators of Jesus were not seeking the truth; they were seeking to justify their ungodliness. As always, the understanding and perception of Christ is astonishing. He knew their motives. He therefore answered with unparalleled wisdom, “You rightly say that I am.” His answer caused His questioners to condemn themselves. The innocence of Christ is without question. Whenever, throughout history, His integrity has been questioned, His questioners have been proven not only wrong but guilty. We may not always understand the ways of the Lord, nevertheless, we can never rightly question His claims and deity. He is the Son of God and God the Son. Therefore, whenever you find yourself questioning the things of God, make sure your questions are legitimate and not self-condemning.
