Title

You Are A Crown

Scripture
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness n his bones.
(Proverbs 12:4)
Devotional
Some in our day would see this Proverb as sexist, chauvinistic, or politically incorrect. God throughout eternity has seen it as orderly, proper and spiritually correct. Why would any wife want to be less than a crown to her husband? Would she rather be a shoe? An excellent crown is a precious symbol of honor and authority. It is made of very valuable metals and jewels. We must continually understand, that marriage is a sacrament, that is, it is a visible form of God’s invisible grace. Every aspect of marriage is to reflect our relationship to Christ as His bride. We will someday give our crowns to Him. As an excellent wife, we have a choice, we can give Him a precious crown of honor; or we can give Him a twisted crown of thorns. One is excellent the other is shameful. Which crown are you to Christ? Which crown are you to your spouse? They are one-and-the-same.
