Should Such A Man As I Flee?

…Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.(Matthew 26:56)
Devotional
What would it take for you to flee? Unfortunately, many people bail-out at the slightest feeling of trouble. We have to understand that the disciples were people just like you and me. There was nothing supernaturally special about them, until the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the believers. These same men who fled and forsook their leader now stood firm in the faith, immovable with regard to the things of God. For the scripture says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me…” This is the difference. You can believe with all you have within you; but without the Holy Spirit, you will eventually flee. Therefore, “Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit.” The you can say as Nehemiah, “Should such a man as I flee?”Daily Reading
