Title

Overcoming When Overwhelmed

Scripture
Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
(Psalm 61:1-2)
Devotional
Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed with life? Are there times that the enemy is relentless in his attacks? Before you have dealt with one dilemma another is stacked against you. When you find yourself overwhelmed, what do you do? I have found that we usually respond in one of two ways. We either lie down and quit, or we attempt to cover the problem. Both are destructive. Nevertheless, there is a third way to respond when overwhelmed, that is to immediately take your situation to the Lord in prayer, and keep it before Him until He answers. Cry out to Him. Entreat Him to listen. Where ever you may be, what ever you may be doing, call upon Him. When your heart is overwhelmed, and you find yourself down, there is a place you can go for refuge. The psalmist called it a place that is higher than I.
