Giving With A Willing Heart
Scripture
Take from among you an offering to the Lord. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering to the Lord.(Exodus 35:5)
Devotional
The tithe is the Lords. It is not an option for the believer. It simply belongs to God. It is not a matter of law; it is a matter of grace. Everything we have is from the Lord. He has given us the ability to achieve and gain an increase. Therefore, He says that the tithe is His and if we fail to do so we are robbing Him. The tithe is the foundation of true prosperity. Along with the tithe is the offering. The offering belongs to the one giving it. It is given by choice. It is a love gift, whereas the tithe is a grace gift. The offering for the most part is given from one’s abundance. As God blesses we likewise can be a blessing. Often times however, the offering is sacrificial. Sacrificial giving may require a change in lifestyle. Yet, when we give in this manner, God shows Himself faithful to meet our needs even more richly. Therefore, with a willing heart we are to bring an offering to the Lord.Daily Reading
