Do Not Repay Evil For Evil

Scripture
Do not say, “I will recompense evil”, Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.
(Proverbs 20:22)
Devotional
Have you ever been purposefully done wrong? Has there ever been a time in your life that you were unfairly accused or maligned? If not, be patient, it will happen to you sooner or later. However, when evil comes against you, do not answer it with evil-neither overtly or covertly. Always wait on the Lord. Isaiah says it this way, “When the enemy comes in life a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” Time and again the scriptures repeat, “Repay no one evil for evil…” Rise above gossip, slander, and lies. If malicious gossip is being spread about you, return it with best wishes. When you are being openly slandered, respond with kindness, and when others lie, you stand on the truth. I understand that holding your tongue is a hard thing to do. Nevertheless, “Wait on the Lord, He will save you.”
