Wise Counsel Is In Our Hearts

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, But a man of understanding will draw it out.

When we are able to expose our hearts, we are then able to reveal our dreams, desires, and goals. All that we are can be found in our hearts. However, few people know their own hearts. Jeremiah said it this way, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” Therefore, the good things of the heart are hidden. We need understanding to find them. We can occasionally obtain this understanding from within. Usually, however, it comes from without. We need someone who understands us and knows us very well. That someone is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is more than able to reveal the motives of or hearts. Christ will change our hearts if we turn them over to Him. When we learn to submit to God given authority, through His word, Church, and people, we are then able to find the wise counsel of our hearts.
