You, Yourself, are to be feared; And who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry?(Psalm 76:7)
Devotional
If we would fear God, we would fear nothing else. It says in the book of Hebrews, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Reverential fear and love go hand in hand. The more we fear God the more we will love Him, and the more we love Him the more we will fear Him. To the natural man, this may appear to be a contradiction of terms. However, the spiritual man understands that the fear of God is based on the love of God. He understands that To violate the laws of God is to violate that love. We are to fear the chastisement of God as a child fears the chastisement of a loving parent, and we are also to fear insulting the Spirit of grace. We cannot stand in the presence of an angry God. Therefore, fear the Lord and turn from evil.Daily Reading
