Title

Little Things Matter To God

Scripture
So the man of God said, “Where did it (the ax head) fall?” And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.
(2 Kings 6:6)
Devotional
In the midst of the great wonders worked at the hand of Elisha is this seemingly insignificant story of a lost ax head. Elisha had raised the dead, healed Naaman the leper, and defeated the enemies of Israel. Yet, in the midst of it all, he had the time to retrieve a borrowed tool; and he did it by means of a miracle. Why did he do it? Why would God empower him to do so? Just think, God saw fit to put it in His word, the Bible. There must have been several reasons: First, God was simply with Elisha. Second, It mattered very much to the young prophet. Most of all, little things matter to God. God knows that it is often the little foxes that spoil the vines. For you see, nothing is too insignificant, nor too difficult for God. Whether your affliction is great or small, He cares.
