Title

Seeing Clearly

Scripture
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.
(John 12:46)
Devotional
I have discovered that the older I get, the more light I need to see clearly. As dusk approaches my vision diminishes. I need the brightness of the day to see clearly. The same applies to my spiritual walk. The longer I walk with Christ, the less I am able to function in the dark. My need for the light of Christ grows greater with each passing year. This is by no means a weakness, but an understanding of my need for His strength. When I was without Christ, I was much more comfortable in the dark. I could hide there. The light of the day exposed my spiritual imperfections and sin nature. The light of Christ revealed my darkness, and when He exposed my sin to the light of His gospel, my sin could not endure. Therefore, we must walk in the light as He is in the light.
