The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, "Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, and as I have purposed, so it shall stand."(Isaiah 14:24)
Devotional
How foolish of mankind to think that we can thwart the plans of the Creator to the universe. How arrogant of us to think that we could destroy that which He has planned to last until He chooses for it to end. We do not live in a fragile environment. The earth is very resilient. Of course we are to be wise stewards and care for that which God has entrusted us. But man is to have dominion over creation, not the reverse. The well being of creatures is never to be placed above the well being of those created in the image of God. To know the Word of the Lord is to know the explicit thoughts of God. To know what shall come to pass is to know His Word. Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."[1] The Word of God is the thoughts of God. What He has said is what He has purposed, and His purpose will stand.[1] Matthew 24:35
