Title

Avoid Temptation

Scripture
When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
(Luke 22:40)
Devotional
When our Lord taught us to pray, we were instructed to pray, “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” The sad fact is that many of us do not have to be led; we walk into temptation willfully. Jesus Knew the powerful pull of temptation. He was tempted by Satan himself in the wilderness. He was tempted in the garden not to complete His purpose on earth. The Bible says that He, “Was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” We must understand that temptation will come. We do not have to look for it. If we pray to be delivered from it, then we should do our best to avoid it. We should not place ourselves into compromising situations. Avoid those areas of life where you have once fallen. Run from the mind benders. Flee all forms of fornication. Above all, pray that you may not enter into temptation.
