Title

May We Not Receive What We Deserve.

Scripture
Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
(Psalm 51:1)
Devotional
When at the end of the day I reflect on the multitudes of my actions, thoughts, and attitudes, I more than often have to cry, “O reached man that I am.” Then I have to meditate on the mercies of God. He protects me from my often foolish action. He convicts me of my selfish thoughts, and He deals steadfastly with my often poor attitude. He truly is a merciful God. At days end, I confess my shortcomings. He thereupon remains faithful and just to grant me forgiveness. Then and only then can restful sleep come. I find that when I finish my day calling out for His mercy and lovingkindness, I begin the following day refreshed, and ready to do my best. I also find that with each passing day, my thoughts, actions, and attitudes get a little better. Therefore, how we finish each day determines how we will succeed through the next.
