Title

Being At Least One-In-Ten

Scripture
So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?”
(Luke 17:17)
Devotional
Ten lepers were healed of their leprosy, but only one returned thankful. Here is a reflection of the self-centeredness of mankind. We are quick to seek-out our well-being, but slow to be thankful for it. Nine out of every ten people are basically selfish. They are the takers of life. Most people fail at their endeavors because of self-indulgence. They are happy to receive, but unthankful. These have the attitude that life owes them their desires. They say, “I want what you have. I do not want to work for it, I just want it.” On the other hand, the one-in-ten, realize that whatever he has is a gift from God, and that having an attitude of gratitude is the least he should give. These few are the givers of life. They are not only happy to receive, they are also very thankful. Anybody can be part of the nine, why not be one-in-ten.
