Title

It’s Not Right, But It’s A Fact

Scripture
The poor man is hated by his own neighbor, But the rich has many friends.
(Proverb 14:20)
Devotional
This is a commentary on the nature of man. He is very much a respecter of persons. The character lessons are many. First, do not be flattered by your own wealth, nor be disdained by your poverty. Yet, realize that this is a fact of human nature. The poor may be patronized, but have little influence. The rich not only have influence, they are heard. The key is humility, realizing that if you have wealth, it is from God. Proverbs again says, “The blessing of the Lord makes on rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” If you are a poor man, do not despise the wealthy. If possible, do what you can to get out of your poverty. Yet, both are to realize that the influence of each is often superficial. What truly matters is the wealth of the soul, the character of the man. Herein are true riches.
