Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.

It is quite evident that God does not care for lying of any kind. Yet, sometimes we act as if God only dislikes big lies; you know, those lies that only other people tell. Well, God hates all lying. There is no such thing as a little white lie. A big lie as well as little lies all fall under the lie category. The apostle John says in his first letter, “No lie is of the truth.”Our text says that lies are an abomination to the Lord; that is, they are disgusting to Him. Why would we want to do anything that God hates? On the other hand, God loves the truth. He delights in it. Can you see that? Can you see Him rejoicing, and smiling over you when you not only tell the truth, but live it? O how easily we are able to please the Creator of the universe. Nothing pleases Him like the truth.
