Title

Confession Brings Repentance

Scripture
I acknowledge my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
(Psalm 32:5)
Devotional
How very foolish of us to think that we could possibly hide our sins from an all knowing, all present God. Psalm 139:7 confirms, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” The answer is obvious, “No where Lord.” Even though God knows all about our sins, He still desires for us to acknowledge and confess those sins to Him. Here’s why. There can be no repentance without there first being confession. The acknowledgment of sin, brings us to confession of sin, which in turn causes God to grant us repentance. When we blow it, we are to acknowledge it. We are to be honest with God. We ought to talk to Him about our short comings. Then, we are to confess our sins to Him. When we do, He will grant us repentance, and forgive us of the iniquity of our sin.
