Title

God Uses Ordinary People

Scripture
Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us? So they were offended at Him.
(Mark 6:3)
Devotional
When God sent His Son to redeem mankind, He sent Him as a man. Christ came through an ordinary family in an ordinary town as an ordinary carpenter. Christ was and is supernaturally ordinary, and naturally supernatural. Christ as an ordinary man came with a supernatural message, the message of salvation by grace through faith. There is a clear lesson to be learned here; that is, we are to judge the message, not the messenger. Never be offended by the class status of a man. God can use even a humble carpenter. Jesus could have come in regal royalty, but He came in humility. He could have come coercing, but He came leading. He could have chosen the scribes and Pharisees to be His followers, but He chose fishermen and tax collectors. You see, God uses ordinary people-people just like you and me.
