For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
(Psalm 18:28)
Devotional
Oswald Chambers said, “Spiritual darkness comes because of something I do not intend to obey.”Christ can only illuminate darkness through obedience. If Christ is the light of the world, obedience is the light switch. It is never God’s fault for a believer to grope around in spiritual darkness. I may not be able to see far into the darkness, but that darkness does not have to surround me. Proverbs says, “The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart.” When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are then able to clearly see through the darkness. As our text says, “For You will light my lamp.” If you find yourself in darkness, ask Christ to reveal any disobedience there may be in your life. If there is, confess it to Him, and you will see the light.
