Who’s to Blame?

Scripture
“Then the man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.’”
(Genesis 3:12)
Devotional
Do you know where Adam was when Eve was being tempted and deceived by the serpent? He was right there, standing next to his wife. The Bible says that Eve ate, “And gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” Eve was deceived, Adam sinned willfully. Thus, the greater sin was committed by the man. However, both blamed another. Eve blamed the serpent, and Adam blamed Eve. The sins of the garden remain to this day. Women are deceived, men sin willfully, and both are quick to blame someone else for their sin. There is no one to blame for our sins other than ourselves. Even if we are tempted and beguiled as Eve, sin is always a choice we make. We must learn to stop pointing the finger of blame for our failure, faults, and sin. We are to blame for our sins. God gets the credit for forgiveness of sin.
