Title

Just Take a Look

Scripture
There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yes, four which I do not understand: The way of an eagle in the air, the way of a serpent on a rock, the way of a ship in the midst of the sea, and the way of a man with a virgin.
(Proverbs 30:18-19)
Devotional
The writer of this Proverb appears to be more than blessed by observing the simplicity of God’s creation. Though he may not understand the “how” of it, he is more than enthralled with its beauty and majesty. It is not so much that these four things are so exceptional compared to other events in creation, but that in their commonality they are wonderful. From the mechanics of a sailing vessel flying through the sea to the romance of a man and a woman, each observed is a marvelous thing and shows the wonder of God’s creation. Psalm 19:1 says it this way, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” Have you observed it lately? Take a look and you will likewise say, “It is too wonderful for me.”

Applying: Make sure that you look around at God’s creation: look at the night sky, the sun rising, children playing and know that heaven will be far more wonderful than anything you have ever seen.
