Title

There Must Be An Awakening

Scripture
Then Jephthah fled from his brothers . . . and worthless men banded together with Jephthah and went out raiding with him.
(Judges 11:3)
Devotional
Sin permeates and penetrates to the very breadth and depth of a nation. Here in the book of Judges we find a prime example of the broadness and ramifications of sin. Jephthah was an illegitimate son of a harlot. His half brothers were no better in that they rejected him, driving him further into the rebellion of sin. Eventually, this renegade became the leader of the people. We will always have the rulers we deserve. We must be about the quenching of sin in our lives. For a nation to be spiritually moral, the people must be moral, and there is no just morality out side of the Kingdom of God. We will never have a moral society in a godless society. We will never have a godly society until we develop godly homes, and we will never have godly homes until we individually surrender to the Lordship of the Son of God. There is “No hope!” for the nation without Jesus Christ. May an awakening begin in America and may it begin with you and me.
