Title

God Will Fight For You

Scripture
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.
(Exodus 14:14)
Devotional
Even when we grumble and complain, the Lord remains faithful. He is still on our side, even though we rebel against Him. Grumbling and complaining is usually caused by fear and doubt. Here the people were certain that the Egyptians were going to overtake them. They thought that it would have been better for them had they remained in Egypt as slaves rather than to die in the wilderness. Nevertheless, Moses, the servant of God, told the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.”

Even in life’s toughest battles, the Lord will fight for His people. Therefore the message is the same for today. We are to hold our peace. We are not to complain and grumble. We are to trust in the Lord our God. Never forget that when God calls, He leads. We can completely trust in Him. There will be times that all looks hopeless, but we are not to fear. God’s timing is perfect. He is never too early nor too late. He will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

Questions To Ponder
Morning Study Guide
Defining:  “What a wonderful phrase, “Hold your peace,” (literally, be quiet or keep silent). In essence, God is saying you need not take any action; stand still and see the salvation of your God, “hold your peace.”

Referencing: “Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us,” Nehemiah 4:20.

Applying: Be aware that there will be times when you are not to defend yourself or even fight for what is right. There will be times when you are to “hold your peace” and see the salvation of the Lord. Maybe today is one of those times.
