Examining My Private Conduct

Scripture
Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ
(Philippians 1:27)
Devotional
Our conduct reveals who we really are, not just publicly, but privately as well. How we conduct ourselves privately will eventually be revealed publicly. As the scriptures say, “And be sure your sin will find you out.” It does not matter who or what you are; your conduct will expose you. You may be a laborer or the president of the United States, nevertheless what you do will reveal who you are. Therefore, we must discipline ourselves to be as godly when we are alone as when we are among those we wish to please. If we fail to behave privately, what makes us think the we can continue to do so publicly? The key to proper conduct is conducting ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. If we privately praise and worship Him, we will do so publicly. If we honor Him publicly, He will correct us privately.
