It Takes Worship

Scripture
O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
(Psalm 108:1)
Devotional
To be steadfast in the faith is to be a true worshipper of God. I am convinced of two pertinent things: First of all, the key to keeping the faith is praise and worship. Secondly, the root of sin is a failure to worship. I am not talking about a style of worship, but an attitude of worship. To be a worshipper is to express your love and gratitude for God by exalting Him above all else. Psalm 34:1 says it so wonderfully, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”(1) Praising people are thankful people and thankful people are happy people. Think about it and put it to the test. Start at your church: enter into the worship and praise with all you have. Meditate on the words and lift them directly to the Lord. Likewise, praise and worship Him alone, while driving in your car or working in your home. As the last line of the last psalm says, “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!”(2)

Thought For The Night
“What is worship? Worship is to feel in your heart and express in some appropriate manner a humbling but delightful sense of admiring awe and astonished wonder and overpowering love in the presence of that most ancient Mystery, that Majesty which philosophers call the First Cause, but which we call Our Father Which Are in Heaven.”  A.W. Tozer, Christian and Missionary Alliance pastor and one of the great Christian writers of the last century

Defining: Commendation bestowed on a person for his personal virtues or worthy actions, on meritorious actions themselves, or on any thing valuable; approbation expressed in words or song. Praise may be expressed by an individual, and in this circumstance differs from fame, renown, and celebrity, which are the expression of the approbation of numbers, or public commendation. When praise is applied to the expression of public approbation, it may be synonymous with renown, or nearly so. A man may deserve the praise of an individual, or of a nation.
