Title

Give Them Your Heart and Observe their Ways

Scripture
My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.
(Proverbs 23:26)
Devotional
There is nothing to which we can give our hearts that will be of a greater benefit than to the understanding of a caring parent. Furthermore there is no greater responsibility than to be a parent of an obedient child or children. It is here that our actions truly speak more loudly than our words. Little eyes watch and eventually mimic. They see through the innocence of a child. A wise son or daughter and a wise father or mother will both heed and give godly direction. The greatest heritage we can leave our children is godly wisdom. Finances, houses and various inheritances will fade, but inherited wisdom will multiply. If you are blessed to have wise parents, listen to them with an ear that leans toward obedience. If you have an obedient son or daughter guide them will all diligence and wisdom. Say to them without shame, "My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways."
