Title

Man in His Arrogance

Scripture
“The Lord reigns . . . Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.”
(Psalm 93:1)
Devotional
Mankind at his best or worst cannot destroy what God has established here on earth. Even though God gave man dominion over His creation, man can only affect it to the degree that God allows. The earth does not belong to itself nor to us, it belongs to its Creator. We are just stewards of the earth---temporary curators of it.
The earth and its creatures, both great and small, should not reign over us. No created thing has dominion over those who have been created in the image of God. No bird, no reptile, nor mammal has equal rights with mankind. This does not mean we are to abuse or misuse what God has created, but they should not be given preferential treatment over the needs or the desires of people.
The earth is not as fragile as some say. God created it to last until He decides to build a new heaven and a new earth.

Defining: “Pedigree”: Inherited nature, genealogy, besetting sin nature, inclination, intrinsic character, etc.

Referencing: “The Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe,” Galatians 3:22.

Applying: Never forget that your natural pedigree is that of sin, but your supernatural inheritance is the righteousness found only in Christ Jesus.
