Title

Our Pedigree

Scripture
“There is none righteous, no not one.... For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
(Romans 3:10 23)
Devotional
Sin does not have to be taught; we come by it naturally. We cannot escape the fact that we have been born with an innate propensity to sin. It is what we have inherited from Adam.
Sin is neither a disease nor a sickness, we do not have to succumb to it. It is something we choose to do. The only way we can be freed from our sinful ways is through the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We find in these two short verses of scripture the need for a Savior. None of us are good enough in our abilities and character to come close to what God demands in regard to His righteousness. There is only one righteous enough and only one good enough: His name is Jesus Christ.

Defining: “Pedigree”: Inherited nature, genealogy, besetting sin nature, inclination, intrinsic character, etc.

Referencing: “The Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe,” Galatians 3:22.

Applying: Never forget that your natural pedigree is that of sin, but your supernatural inheritance is the righteousness found only in Christ Jesus.
