Title

Created To Worship

Scripture
Wise men . . . have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.
(Matthew 2:1-2)
Devotional
Wise men still seek to worship Him. We were created for this purpose. Therefore, if you are wise, you will be a worshiper. If you wish to acquire wisdom, you will become a worshiper. When we first came to Christ, we came as seekers. Once we know Him as Savior we are to seek Him as Lord. Once we know Him as Lord, we are to seek to worship Him. We are to do so in every realm of our lives. Wise men worship Him in songs, hymns and spiritual songs. (1) They worship Him with a godly character and Christ-like attitude. The wise seek to worship Christ in their homes, at work, and even at play. Furthermore, wise men seek others who likewise will become worshipers. Proverbs 11:30 says, “He who wins souls is wise.” Therefore, never stop seeking His wisdom. Never stop being a wise man that worships God in spirit and in truth.

Definition: We know little about these men. The word translated “wise men” (magi) refers to a group of scholars who studied the stars.

Reference: “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:11-12

Application: Worship Him. Sing, praise, and exalt the King. When you are in the fellowship of the believers and the congregation has risen, sing to the Lord with all your heart. Lift up holy hands and bless His Name. As the psalmist says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 150:6
