The Church Needs More Ushers

Scripture

For a day in Your house is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
(Psalm 84:10)

Devotional

What is your attitude with regard to the gathering of God’s people? Where would you rather be on a Sunday morning? I would hope that being in God’s house with God’s people is a highlight of your week. If it is not, why not? Is it you or your church? May I be bold and suggest that if Sunday morning is a drudgery, something has to change, either you or your church. May I further add, most likely, it is you. If you were blessed to be a doorkeeper, you most likely would be blessed with your church. If you are not serving, you are most likely complaining. Serving the Lord with a pure heart has a way of adjusting the attitude. Therefore, get excited about the things of God. Attend church with anticipation. Go expecting to meet the Lord. Go offering instead of just taking. Enter into the praise and worship. Go to Sunday school. Be a doorkeeper in the house of God.
