Title

When Blessings Flow

Scripture
Laban said . . . “I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.
(Genesis 30:27)
Devotional
If the Lord is blessing you, it may not be because of your own goodness, righteousness, or talent. It may be because of the goodness, righteousness and giftedness of another. God may be blessing you to serve another. You may be gifted to be a gift. You may be the helpmate of a servant of the Lord. You may be the encourager behind God’s warrior. You may be Moses’ Aaron; Joshua’s Caleb; David’s Jonathan or Paul’s Timothy. Never feel of little value when serving the server. Jesus said, “If you want to be great in God’s kingdom, you must be a servant of all.” Therefore never shun being an encourager, a helpmate, a coach, or an assistant. If God calls you to be second, be second and be satisfied. Relish being an advisor. Cherish upholding a leader. Revel in making another shine. God knows and He will often reward the second more than the first.

Thought For The Day
“As every Scot knows, salt must be put into the oatmeal from the start, before cooking, not afterward. In a similar way, Christ can never be added as an afterthought to an already full and committed life. It's possible to attempt to use the Master and His power to fulfill our desires and plans for the people we love and still give Him the one position He will not accept: second place.” Lloyd John Ogilvie, The Heart of God.
