Title

Protocol To the Father

Scripture
Blessed is the man You choose, and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple.
(Psalm 65:4)
Devotional
We have access to the Father through the Son. Here is how: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”(1) When Jesus taught His disciples and us to pray, He said, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”(2) We gain the privilege to approach the Father through the avenue of praise and worship.
When we come to the Father in the name of the Son, praising and worshipping Him and with thanksgiving, we are then blessed and chosen to approach Him. God in essence holds out his royal scepter, granting us permission to be heard. Then and only then can we rightfully bring our prayers and supplication before Him.
There is a protocol in approaching the Father and Creator of the universe. Praise, worship and thanksgiving get us into God’s house, His holy temple.

(1) Psalm 100:4, (2) Luke 11:2
Thought For The Night
“Peter Buehler, who helped lead John and Charles Wesley to experience conversions, once said, ‘If I had a thousand tongues, I’d praise Christ with them all.’ Charles Wesley expanded this stray comment into lines that became the well-known hymn ‘O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing.’”  The Golden Age of Hymns, Christian History
